Is Veedz AI completely free?

Yes, 100% free — forever. There are no plans, no credits, and no hidden charges. Because all processing runs locally in your browser, there are no server costs to pass on to you.

Do I need to create an account?

No account, no signup, no email required. Open the page, drop your file, and download the result. That's it.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Your files never leave your device. The AI model runs entirely in your browser using your own CPU or GPU. We have no server receiving your files.

How does the AI upscaling work?

We use Anime4K, a state-of-the-art neural network for image super-resolution. The model is downloaded once and cached in your browser. It analyzes each pixel and reconstructs fine details — not just sharpening edges, but genuinely adding plausible high-frequency content.

What browsers are supported?

Chrome and Edge (with WebGPU for fast GPU processing), Firefox (WASM fallback), and Safari (WASM fallback for images; video upscaling requires Chrome/Edge due to WebCodecs limitations).

What are the file size limits?

Images: limited by your device's available RAM. Most modern devices can handle up to 4096×4096px (16MP). Videos: max 60 seconds at HD resolution. Larger files may cause out-of-memory errors depending on your device.

What is the difference between Photo and Anime modes?

Photo mode uses the Anime4K-x4plus model, optimized for real-world photographs and generic images. Anime mode uses Anime4K-x4plus-anime, a specialized model for animated content, illustrations, and manga — it produces cleaner lines and better color preservation for drawn art.

The model download takes a while — is that normal?

Yes, on first use the AI model (~17MB) needs to download. After that, it's cached in your browser's IndexedDB and loads instantly — even offline. You'll never download it again unless you clear your browser cache.

Can I pause video upscaling if it takes too long?

Yes. Video upscaling is very intensive as it processes frame-by-frame. You can use the Pause button at any time to temporarily stop processing, freeing up your computer's resources, and resume later from exactly where you left off (provided the tab stays open).

Can I use upscaled images commercially?

Yes. Veedz AI itself doesn't restrict commercial use. However, ensure you own the rights to the original image before upscaling and distributing commercially.
